More about this photograph: The location of this image is the former mens dayroom on Hall #8 of Building 50 of Traverse City State Hospital a.k.a The Northern Michigan Asylum. This dayroom was used for men undergoing "convalescence" and on their way to being released from the institution. As of 2007, this space is undergoing re-development into future residential or commercial space. No manipulation to this photograph other than a vaseline dotted filter. This image appears in the book "Angels in the Architecture: A Photographic Elegy to an American Asylum" pg.128.
